REIKI & HOSPICE

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

during END OF LIFE CARE

When one is close to surrendering life, it is a sacred time and not to be interfered with.

A time of withdrawal, life review, closure and often fear.

It has been an honor for me to volunteer as a Reiki therapist in hospice, offering comfort & companionship. I utilize Reiki during my visits & it is a gentle, non-invasive way to bring comfort to those in transition. It is becoming more & more accepted in hospice care for calming, pain relief & family support.

A positive addition to incorporate into hospice care, Reiki brings peace into the room. Whether the receiver is alert or in the active state of dying, Reiki can be given hands on or hands off, it can be sent at a distance & is received by the soul. It has its own wisdom, so it does what is needed in every moment. It does not invade personal choice or religious beliefs.

In the active state of dying, I have witnessed how Reiki can calm and assist the recipient during restlessness, confusion & other physical indications that occur during the natural process of leaving the body.

Family members are also supported with this non invasive approach to grief, during the passing process, as well as with ongoing support post death.
